BUSINESS LOAN BROKERAGE COMPANY PROMOTES NEW LOAN INITIATIVE FOR HOMEBASED BUSINESSES; AIMS FOR CHURCHES
Upper Marlboro, Maryland - October 7, 2002 -- Destiny Capital Funding, LLC, a business loan and lease brokerage company in Upper Marlboro, Maryland has joined forces with Innovative Bank in California, to process loans under the SBA Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) loan initiative.
Under the initiative, businesses can obtain a business loan of $5,000 and do not have to use personal assets or a consumer loan for a business expense. Since the initiative began in late August, Innovative Bank has already approved 20 loans totaling $102,000. Under the initiative which is part of the SBA CommunityExpress program, eligible businesses will not only be able to obtain a business loan, but also receive technical assistance from a business finance consultant with Destiny Capital Funding, LLC.
Currently, Destiny Capital Funding is the only independent Technical Assistance provider in the Prince George's County area without any geographical limitations. "Business Counselors from organizations such as your local Small Business Development Center (SBDC) are limited geographically, but we are not," says Karen Hardy, CEO of Destiny Capital Funding. "We are not limited geographically and are at liberty to provide this service anywhere."
As a result, Hardy is working with Innovative Merchant Solutions, a subsidiary of Innovative Bank, to provide this service to churches throughout the P.G. County and District of Columbia area. "There are a lot of churches that do not have business groups established internally," says Hardy, who also resides over the Business Ministry at Cornerstone Peaceful Bible Baptist Church in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. "By offering this loan initiative service to these churches, we solve this problem by giving small business owners access to capital, providing technical assistance not readily available at local banks, and an ongoing resource to churches" says Hardy. "This is a great way for us to advocate small business development in our community."
Karen Hardy is CEO and Founder of Destiny Capital Funding, LLC. She is a trained and certified Business Finance Consultant with over 15 years combined experience in commercial banking and procurement. She holds a Masters of Science degree in Business Administration and is a member of the Prince George County Chamber of Commerce Small Business Development Committee.
